Programme Atmosphere and Climate (ATMO)

Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ)

The Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ) develops technologies that benifit research in Germany and worldwide in the areas of health, energy and climate, as well as information technology.

It is one of Europe's largest interdisciplinary research centres. Together with its partners in science and industry it develops and builds key technologies, whose benefits are not restricted to the specific needs of isolated disciplines, but instead open new doors for research as a whole.

At the Forschungszentrum Jülich, the two atmospheric research institutes IEK-7: Stratosphere and IEK-8: Troposphere belonging to the Institute of Energy and Climate (IEK) contribute to ATMO research.
