Programme Atmosphere and Climate (ATMO)

Karlsruhe Institute for Technology (KIT)

The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) is one of the world's largest research and education institutions.

It combines tasks of a university of the state of Baden-Württemberg with those of a research center of the Helmholtz Association in the areas of research, teaching, and innovation.

The main KIT institute contributing to the Helmholtz Programme Atmosphere and Climate (ATMO) is the Institute for Meteorology and Climate Research (IMK). It is one of the largest meteorological institutes in Germany and consists of four divisions:

Atmospheric Aerosol Research

(IMK-AAF)

Atmospheric Environmental Research

(IMK-IFU)

Building 435, Campus north, hosting IMK-ASF and IMK-TRO

Building 30.23, Campus south, hosting IMK-TRO

Atmospheric Trace Gases and Remote

Sensing (IMK-ASF)

Troposphere Research

(IMK-TRO)
